Finally Apple unveils M1, its first system-on-a-chip for Mac Laptops

During her One More Thing Meeting, Apple announced the first Mac system to run with the new M1 processor, which comes from the Apple design itself, rather than the Intel Corporation processors used since 2005.

This step by Apple was part of the strategy that I used over the last decade, and through it I managed to achieve great success with other agencies like iPhones and iPad.

When the company got upset with the PowerPC processor roadmap that it used to rely on for its products, it turned to Intel processors, through which it hoped to deliver better performance and energy efficiency.

But Intel didn’t do enough to keep Apple going, so the latter turned into Apple Silicon to run the new M1 Mac with an ARM-based Giant Apple chip, and know what it can do.

First look at the M1 chips of apple

Most PCs, whether they’re Windows or Mac or Chrome, come with one chip with a bunch of components inside it, and every component that deals with different processing tasks, and we find a processor for basic computing, including surfing the internet, opening and closing applications, and another graphics processor for processing graphics calculations.

Large, powerful devices include CPU and GPU’s separate components, each attached to the motherboard, and smaller laptops typically combine the primary processor with a graphics processor in a single component using what’s called integrated graphics processing, with other computer components such as normal memory, cache, and even storage space in different locations on the motherboard.

For the new Apple M1 chipset, it works in a way similar to the way phone processors work, not as the way computer processors work, and instead of a separate M1 family of processors, the M1 chip will offer one system on the SoC chip, and this integrated chipset can handle all the calculations, graphics and any other tasks from one place.

M1 chips specification

Like the A14 iPhone processor, the new Apple M1 processor comes with a 5-nm architecture with 16 billion transistors for higher efficiency. Nonetheless, Intel’s latest 10-nm process is expected to show Intel’s first 7-nm or less architecture nearly two years from now.

And because Apple wanted M1 to outperform Intel processors and do everything at once, the P16 is powered by 16 cores and this is more than six cores of Intel’s most powerful and most powerful processors, not only to do things faster but also to do more, and 16 cores are:

Four dedicated computational cores for complex calculations that require massive processing power.

Four other low-power, low-voltage cores to make sure the chipset doesn’t consume more power than you need, tasks are transferred to the right nuclear group.

8 additional graphics processing cores similar to the way Intel graphics processors work, so Apple can run a 60-hertz screen with up to 6K resolution, like the first Retina 6K Apple Pro Display XDR.

In addition, the M1 chip has an integrated storage controller for moving data to and from the Mac operating system, and there are many processors, controllers, and other sensors that deal with other important tasks such as image processing, encryption, and performing the tasks required to run the computer.

Appel chip and artificial intelligence

Long ago, the Apple Series, even Intel processors, had built-in AI algorithms that were very important to help modern software run fast and smoothly, and of course, the latest Apple M1 chip comes from machine learning capabilities and artificial intelligence, with a 16-pin neural engine capable of running 11 trillion processes per second to deal with AI activities and to speed up machine learning tasks and machine learning accelerations CPU & Graphics The M1 chipset can perform video analysis, image manipulation and audio recognition with unprecedented performance on an Intel processor Mac.

Powerful performance of the M1 chip

The new Apple M1 chipset features powerful technologies such as:

  • The latest Image Signal Processor for high-quality video with automatic balance and reduced photo anomalies and distortions.
  • The latest Secure Profile processor for high security and protection.
  • Storage controllers and AES encryption for fast, simultaneous transfer of files to and from hard disk.
  • Low-power, high-efficiency media that encodes and decode drives for higher performance and longer battery life.
  • Apple Desktop Controllers with support for USB 4 ports, delivering transfer speeds up to 40GB.

How powerful is the M1

According to Apple, the M1 chipset is faster than the Intel processors in the Mac that will replace it, and at the recent Apple conference, the company said that MacAir’s overall performance on an M1 chip is 3.5 times faster than before and graphics performance is about five times faster.

At MacBook Pro with M1, AI works 11 times faster than before. The X-Code can be created 2.8 times faster. Apple claims that the new M1 hardware is faster than the Windows OS, with the new Mac IR outperforming 98% of the laptop battery sold last year, and the M1 chip will provide a longer life New Mac vs. Intel processors.

Finally, with the new Apple M1 chip, we’ll see a new era of McCain hardware that not only delivers leading performance and powerful features, but also high-speed, energy-efficient, and new technologies than Intel processor-based Mac.

Do you think the new Apple processor is better than the Intel processor in the Mac?
